Veterinarian Recommended

Pets requiring special care including medications are welcomed. We recommend making reservations in advance, especially for the holidays. If you have any questions or would like to see the facility be sure to ask when you call.

Vaccines

For the protection of all of our animal guest, all boarding pets must be current on their vaccines. This means that within the last 12 months cats must have had FVRCP & Rabies vaccine and dogs must have hadDA2PLCPV/CVK & Rabies vaccines and Bordetella. Conformation of vaccination is required by way of a printout from your veterinarian. Keep this in mind if you are dropping your pet off during the afternoon hours as your veterinarian may be closed.

Bordetella {Kennel Cough} vaccine is required at our facility. To effectively prevent kennel cough, the painless administration of this vaccine is best done a week or so before boarding, but does have some benefit even within 24 hours of administration.

Fleas

All pets are checked for fleas when they arrive and at discharge. All pets may be sprayed or powdered with a safe flea product at our discretion unless otherwise requested by their owners. If you prefer your pet to have a flea bath or dip please notify us at the time you schedule your boarding appointment and we can give you an estimate on the cost.

Food

You must supply your own food in a clean clearly marked container with the pet’s name and instructions.

Emergency Phone Numbers

Owners must leave an emergency phone number where they or a responsible agent can be reached in the case of an emergency or illness. Also owners must leave the name and phone number of their regular Veterinarian. In the unforeseeable event that your pet should need to see a veterinarian during its stay at our facility, and after all reasonable attempts have been made to reach your veterinarian, we will take your pet to our Veterinarian, {Country Doctor Vet Clinic}, Dr. Charles A. Currie or Dr. Diane C. Veale to be treated at the owners expense.

Medications

If your pet has medical problems, medications, or special needs please let us know. There is an extra charge for medications given more than once a day. If your pet is a diabetic requiring insulin injections there will be an extra charge to give injections. Dogs requiring our making special trips to the veterinarian are charged $20.00 for each trip if local.
